Excluding you or your client from Google Analytics

Get Accurate Analytics Data by Excluding you or your client from Google Analytics

To ensure that your analytics data is providing the most accurate data we need to provide data that does not include the client’s visits as well as the visits from the SEO consultant or company working on the website.

To do this we just need to follow 10 quick steps that will ensure that either our IP, domain or sub directory is excluded from the data.

To do this we need to create a filter in the analytics profile:

  1. Go to the analytics setting in your account
  2. Click edit on the profile we would like to exclude the data from
  3. Select add filter below the goals to set up of exclusion
  4. Select either a new filter or make amendments to an existing filter
  5. For setting up a new Filter enter a relevant name for the filter you are setting up
  6. Select from a predefined filter if you would just like to exclude or include only a domain, IP or sub-directory
  7. Provide the domain, IP or sub-directory we would like to exclude or include
